Full “end of line” automation

A collaboration between Joloda and Trapo

Production and storage are not always at the same location. For example, because production has been expanded at the expense of storage, or warehousing is outsourced. One or more trucks commute back and forth between the locations. Especially in this situation it can be cost-effective to automate the loading and unloading of the trucks at both locations.

If you equip your fleet with an automatic trailer loading and unloading system, you reduce the time required for loading and unloading to approximately 3 minutes. This results in quick turnaround of the trailers and thus an optimal usage. Which leads to a reduction of the number of trucks to be used.

It is even more attractive if the connection of the production lines to the automatic loading system is fully automatic. This leads to complete end of line automation. Together with Joloda, the global market leader of automated loading and unloading solutions, we have realised several complete projects. Trapo takes care of the integration of Joloda’s systems and makes the perfect lay out for each individual customer case.

The collaboration between Joloda and Trapo makes it possible to organize your production process in such a way that truly nothing has to be done manually anymore.

We use Trapo pallet conveyors to connect the production to the loading system. To give you an impression, you will find three examples of projects below. The third example concerns a solution specifically developed for the tire industry: a tailor made solution for a very specific client case that demonstrates the flexibility of the partners.

Connection production lines to loading system with pallet conveyors

For one of our jointly realized projects, Trapo pallet conveyors form the connection between the end of five production lines and the Joloda loading system. The products from these production lines are palletized and then are automatically moved to one of the three Joloda slipchain systems. After being loaded within 3 minutes, the dedicated slipchain trailers drive the 20km shuttle distance between the factory and the warehouse.

Two different pallet sizes are coming from the production: the Euro pallet and the block pallet. Every pallet has been given pallet data at the production line. The Trapo system uses this data together with a decision matrix to determine to which of the three Joloda slipchain systems the pallet must be transported.

100% end of line automation via connecting production lines to loading system with AGVs

If the production lines are further apart or your passages are not wide enough for stationary Trapo pallet conveyors, then connecting your lines to the Joloda loading system with an AGV is also an option. However, an AGV places the pallets with a small tolerance. This means there is a chance that the pallets are too far apart to be loaded.

100% end of line automation in the tire industry

In the tire industry steel transport racks are widely used. There are different stacking patterns, among which a roof tile- like structure. The racks are used for internal storage and external transport from the tire manufacturer to the car manufacturer. These racks eventually also have to be returned to the tire factory. This results in a high volume shuttle operation, ideal for full automation of all processes!
