ROBOTIC CASE PACKING II: Automatically packing of products wrapped in foil

We got a request to pack automatically products wrapped in foil into an outer box. Because of the flexible packaging of the products the picking technique which uses vacuum was less suitable. However, the application with a clamping system led to the result intended.

The solution

The products are accumulated in front of the Case Packer and are brought into position. To ensure that the Case Packer works continuously, in this installation the empty outer boxes are positioned on both sides of the robot. Once the robot has finished filling an outer box on one side, it can immediately continue filling an outer box on the other side. In the meantime, the full outer box is closed and transported away and a new, empty outer box is brought into position.
